BEN WINFIELD

Ben Winfield is a versatile composer, orchestrator, and copyist based in London. After gaining attention for his technical proficiency with sweeping orchestral arrangements and contemporary exploration, Ben has composed for award-winning short films, feature-length documentaries, and other multimedia projects spanning various genres - from hard-hitting synthwave to delicate ambience.
Ben fostered an interest in cinematic scores early, using his developing talent to achieve a First-Class Honours in Music. Afterwards, Ben assisted at Studio 91 (Robin Trower, Bring Me The Horizon, Amber Run). In becoming the studio’s resident composer, Ben contributed to multiple projects including the upcoming ‘Moving Out/Moving On’; a wide-lensed, satirical musical for the modern age from Tobias Cambrai. With over an hour of rich orchestral arrangements, Ben also orchestrated and engraved the score, producing a small run of physical study scores.
Ben’s debut album ‘a place that moans as oceans do’ is an unflinching look into the cyclical every day. Born from the isolation of modern life and a relentless corporate reality, ‘a place that moans as oceans do’ is Ben’s endeavour into the dark contemporary; unearthing connection between sound, sense, and emotion.
